portrait Elke Bücheler was born in Cologne, Germany but graduated at the Fine Arts Academy in Enschede, The Netherlands. She is known for her paintings and her commissions for magazines like Jazzism and Luister (Listen).Art historian Loeky Rebel wrote about her work: "Elke Bücheler is using different elements from all trends in art history since the end of the 19th century. By using these elements she creates her own universe, full of fantasy and very colorful. It's a perfect example of 'Appropriation'."

Bücheler's jazz drawings are frivolous but have the same feeling of passion that characterize her erotically and religiously touched paintings. They are a true explosion of the joy of live.
